Overview:
MACC Development is a place-based, resident-led Christian community development corporation committed the holistic revitalization of Detroit’s 48214 community, block by block, neighbor by neighbor. We exist to see the gospel advanced and to promote the dignity, value, and worth of every resident. MACC Lit is one of several community efforts organized and resourced by MACC Development. MACC Lit seeks Christ-centered renewal in the 48214 by promoting a culture of literacy, community education, and healthy families.
MACC Lit is made up of three different programs offered to different age groups at different times of the year - MACC Lit, PACT, and MACC Lit Summer Camp. MACC Lit Summer Camp is open to kids who have just completed Kindergarten-Fifth Grade and takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am-3pm at 7900 Mack Avenue. Session 1 runs from July 9-25, and Session 2 runs from August 6-22
The Assistant Program Manager works to:
The MACC Lit Summer Camp Counselor will serve as the assistant to the program manager at all of the MACC Lit programming activities during the MACC Lit Summer Camp. The main role of the Summer Camp Counselor is to provide support and organization to the daily activities of MACC Lit.
Responsibilities:
The Camp Counselor will meet regularly with and report directly to the Program Director.
Provide support summer camp
Recruit, train, oversee volunteers
Assist with the teaching of gospel centered curriculum and lesson planning
Aide in administering testing and evaluating student reading levels
Prepare and organize the learning space
Abide by all MACC Development Staff expectations
Compensation:
The Summer Camp Counselor is a part-time, temporary position. The SCC will be compensated at with a $11.00 per hour.
